High quality, customisable rack Power Distribution Units (PDUs)
The Raman Power rack power portfolio consists of fully customisable rack PDUs. Our solutions help small, midsize, enterprise and colocation data centres increase efficiency, improve reliability and raise productivity. With billing grade accuracy, intelligence and designed for the hottest data centres, facility managers are able to prevent downtime, identify hot spots or over cooling, optimally balance loads per rack, and ensure maximum uptime.
Our broad range of custom-made PDU models include basic, metered, intelligent (input monitoring, outlet monitoring and switching), inline meters and automatic transfers switches (ATS). We offer 1-ph or 3-ph models, ratings of 10A up to 63A, and we also support all worldwide AC voltages and various outlet types such as BS1363 UK, Schuko, IEC and Nema.
Built to Order PDU
The Raman Power rack PDU range is vast with 1-ph and 3-ph options to 10A to 63A ratings in horizontal or vertical rack mounting. A diverse range of outlet options are also available (IEC C13, IEC C19, BS1363 and Schuko) with options for various features or functionality such as coloured PDU, colour coded outlets per circuit breaker, locking outlets, residual current monitoring, basic local meter, and IP upgradeable for remote monitoring. The Raman Power intelligent rack PDU range is available in 6 models.
Although our Basic PDU has no intelligence, it is still constructed out of high-quality components. The basic PDU distributes correct voltage and current to multiple outlets and offers branch circuit protection.
Our Power Metered Upgradeable PDU is a unique, versatile rack power metering solution for your datacentre or server room. It not only offers an extremely function rich, local LCD display and reliable power metering (PDU level or per outlet), but is also 100% futureproof due its upgradeability feature. You can easily add IP functionality later by adding the hot-swappable network module.
Per Input Monitored
Our intelligent per input monitored PDUs measure the current draw (load) at the PDU level, and display the data locally and remotely. It also offers user-defined alarm functions and remote access to the data.
Per Outlet Monitored
Our intelligent per outlet monitored PDUs measure the current draw (load) at the outlet level, and display the data locally and remotely. It also offers user-defined alarm functions and remote access to the data.
Per Input Monitored and Switched
Our intelligent per outlet switched PDUs measures the current draw (load) at the PDU level and provides controlled on/off switching of individual outlets. It enables authorised users to securely power cycle devices remotely, set power sequencing delay to allow outlets to switch on in a staggered approach, as well as scheduling power control for future events.

No Minimum Order Quantities or Long Lead times for Built to Order PDUs
All Raman Power rack PDUs are built to order with short lead times. We believe every customer environment and their rack power requirements are unique. So why be limited to standard part codes and SKUs. We give our customers flexibility to tell us what they require, and we than design the PDU accordingly. What is even better is that there are no minimum order quantities, even on coloured rack PDUs, and the typical lead times are only 1-2 weeks. If you require a rack PDU with a combination of mixed outlets and specific features and functions, rest assured Raman Power can do it and deliver it!
Power Metrics that Matter
The Raman Power intelligent rack PDUs measure Energy (kWh), Voltage (V), Current (A), Active Power (kW), Apparent Power (kVA) and Power Factor (PF). They also support automated alerts via SNMP, remote power monitoring and control (selected models), and MIB file integration with 3rd party DCIM software and BMS.
One of the most common causes of downtime is hardware failure resulting from exceeded temperature or humidity levels within the cabinet. The Raman Power Intelligent PDU supports environmental monitoring of your cabinet rack. Other sensors available include door contact, smoke detection and water leakage sensors.
If you wish to connect multiple sensors, dedicated environmental monitoring appliances are available. Depending on the size of your deployment and what you wish to monitor we have solutions for a small comms room, monitoring at the EDGE, and medium to large data centres.
Our PDUs support the most stringent security protocols in the market in order to prevent unauthorized access (256 bit AES encryption, Radius, SNMPv3, user permissions, SSH, SSL, HTTPS).
Hydraulic-magnetic Circuit Breakers
Our PDUs are equipped with highly reliable hydraulic-magnetic circuit breakers which are not affected by ambient temperature and support delay curves appropriate for IT-equipment. Also our solutions proactively monitor the status of the breakers in order to prevent downtime due to server power supply failure or overloads.
Energy Efficient Latching Relays
Our PDUs are equipped with energy efficient, bi-stable latching relays. These relays consume up to 70% less energy than alternatives, make outlet switching safer and can be configured in such a way that in case of PDU failure the power distribution to the rack is maintained.
Kwh Metering Accuracy
All our PDUs feature +/- 1% billing grade accuracy enabling precise allocation of data centre expenses.
Full Colour Range
Raman Power PDUs are available in any RAL-colour. Coloured PDUs make it easier to reduce human errors, identify power feeds and lowering the risk of unplanned downtime.
Secure Locking Outlets
Raman Power intelligent rack PDUs are equipped with lockable outlets preventing power cords from coming unplugged due to human error or vibration.
Residual Current Monitoring Option
By measuring current flowing in the ground wire, our residual current monitoring option reduces the risk of electric shock. PDUs equipped with residual current monitoring dramatically reduce the burden of regulatory auditing.
In order to save on network ports and manage multiple devices from one IP address we offer the opportunity to daisy chain up to 4 PDUs using Cat5/6 cable.
Our PDUs support HTTP(s), SSH, RS-232 (Serial), SNMP v1/v2/v3, SMTP and Modbus
Circuit Breaker Trip Alarming
Our solutions pro-actively monitor the status of the circuit breakers (voltage and current monitoring) and will send you an alert in case a circuit breaker has tripped.
Raman Power PDUs support a maximum operating temperature of up to 60 degrees Celsius for reliable performance in dense, high heat environments.
Interoperability with third party software
If you would like to centrally manage all PDUs in your data centre this is possible. Our solutions offer the option to communicate the status of rack-level power and environmental information to a third party Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM) solution.
Our PDUs are thoroughly tested before leaving the factory and compliant with the most stringent electrical standards such as UL, CE, TÜV, RoHS and IEC60950-1.
